Answers to “Trivia Corner”:

  1. b. Baroque

  2. b. Positronic Emission Tomography

  3. False. The brain retains certain types of information longer than others because of where that type of information is stored.  Some brain functions, such as the ability to make judgments and language usage, are affected very early on, again because of the location. The area where curse words are stored is not affected until late in the disease process. In Chapter 3 of The 36 Hour Day by Nancy Mace M. A., and Peter Rabins, M.D., M.P.H., one person with dementia was asked why he cursed out the day care staff. He replied, “These are the only words I have.”
