Focus on Search Engine Optimization: Keywords
by Aaron Howard, Senior Web Designer
Did you know that content is an important key to having your site found by search engines when a consumer is looking for the service that you provide? Here are a few guidelines that will help you when reviewing or developing the content for your website: The home page should have a brief description of who you are, whom you serve, and what you do.
Each page should have keywords and titles that support that page's subject matter.
Words should be chosen based on how a consumer would try to find your service.
If geographic area is important to your service, think like a consumer list city, state. Consumers do not search via county or region. To discover how the consumer describes you, survey current and new consumers. They may provide valuable insight into how a layperson thinks of your service. Writing for the Internet can differ from the language that you use in your other marketing materials. Caresource proofs and edits every website that it publishes.
