Surveys Online and Via E-Mail

Surveys are a great way to open the lines of communication between you and your target market. They create a dialogue and help you better understand those you serve and their needs. Asking for the opinions of your audience also emphasizes the fact that you care about their opinions and feedback.

Whether you receive positive or negative feedback, surveying your clients increases your retention rate. If you receive negative feedback, using that feedback to change your product or service can improve your business.

Surveys can be quickly and easily managed via email or as an added website feature. A good survey can be 1 to 10 questions. If you are tempted to create a survey with more questions, consider your audience and their level of involvement with the subject matter. If they are very involved, they will spend more time completing your survey. However, most people are busy, and it is important to be sensitive to their time constraints.

Surveys that are posted on your website also add changing content to your websites, which has a positive affect on search engine optimization. They provide new words and text on your site which search engines will re-index. They also provide something new and fresh for repeat visitors.

There are many software programs that you can subscribe to for a low monthly fee. We are currently using Zoomerang but would love to know if there are other programs that you have tried and like.

Take a few minutes to complete this short survey on your personal experience with surveying your target market!
