Learn More - Educational Memory Fitness Program
Memory Fitness Matters
There are still a few registrations left for our September 21 NCOA/Caresource Healthy Aging Briefing Series (HABS) teleconference. Kathryn Kilpatrick will speak on "Memory Fitness Matters."
This session will give a brief overview of the educational memory fitness program, Memory Fitness Matters. The program is based on a successful series of memory fitness programs that were developed to meet the needs of adults in senior centers, AARP groups, adult day programs, senior organizations, retirees and independent and assisted living facilities.
What Will You Learn? - Overview of memory and aging, including causes of memory loss.
- Components of memory fitness and how to maximize and enhance memory and make the right lifestyle choices.
- Suggestions for program ideas and activities for different types of senior settings.
Why Should I Attend?
Attendees will learn basic strategies for memory enhancement and program ideas and activities for communicating with memory-impaired adults. And all-first time briefing session participants will receive a FREE copy of the Aging in Stride guide to healthy aging and eldercare, which includes the new supplement Just In Case: Emergency Readiness for Older Adults and Caregivers. To participate in this briefing, please register online by September 19, 2006. This interactive briefing is hosted in both an audio and web conference format. Attendees can call in toll-free to hear the audio portion and connect online to view and download documents. Special Note: Despite NCOA's best efforts, occasionally people who are not registered dial into these popular sessions. As we can only accommodate 100 people, a registration does not guarantee your admittance into the briefing. We encourage you to log in early on the day of the briefing to secure your spot. In fairness to all participants, please encourage others who are interested in attending to register. Archives Also Available Remember, too, that past HABS presentations are archived for your convenience at our Aging in Stride web site. This month's teleconference should be available by Tuesday, September 26, at www.AgingInStride.org/NCOA_archives.
