Webinar Survey Guides 2008 Topic Line-Up
HABS, the Healthy Aging Briefings Series, is co-sponsored each month by NCOA and Caresource for our members, clients, and friends. As we have for the past two years, this year we have surveyed past webinar participants regarding their topic preferences for the coming year. During the past year, HABS presentations have explored: changes in consumer attitudes toward senior centers and the programs they offer
- latest research findings on caregiver needs and attitudes
- moving from scarcity to abundance in community support for aging programs
- evidence-based programs that promote good nutrition among older adults
- strategies for attracting Baby Boomers to your senior center
- guidelines for designing senior-friendly websites.
Did you miss some of these free programs? Don’t worry! NCOA and Caresource are pleased to make HABS webinar archives available online for your convenience. So, what new topics were identified for 2008? Here are six that were among the most requested: - Promoting volunteerism among older adults
- New models for senior center programming, including the Café Concept
- Best practices in attracting, training, and motivating volunteers
- Publishing an electronic newsletter for seniors, caregivers, and the aging services network
- Brain fitness – taking a holistic approach
- Cultural diversity – helping staff adjust to a new set of realities.
