“When we were thinking about doing a website, I didn’t consider working with any company other than IlluminAge. They are the best at what they do.” Alison Everett, Pennsylvania Health Care Association Pennsylvanians for Quality Care (PQC) announce a brand new website developed and designed by IlluminAge in partnership with the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA). PQC is a nonprofit coalition committed to ensuring that Pennsylvania’s aged and disabled citizens get the quality long-term care they need and deserve. The new site was formally introduced to the organization’s members at the annual PHCA convention in September. “We wanted a place where caregivers and families could go to share their stories and to find the information they need to be effective advocates,” said Alison Everett, Director of Communications and Public Affairs for PHCA. A soft rollout of the site to a few hundred administrators prior to the convention drew more than 1,500 visits. Many of the visits were to the Send-a-Letter feature of the site, where caregivers and families can find sample letters to newspapers and legislators from nursing home residents, family and friends of a nursing home residents and volunteers. Everett said the new site is an important advocacy tool because it spells out what’s at stake for Pennsylvanians: ensuring that Medicaid dollars are available so that families have access to quality nursing home care when they need it, and that nursing homes have the resources they need to deliver that quality care. A prominent feature of the PQC website is its use of strong photo images and video clips to share personal stories. Six stories are presented on the homepage. The site also includes a blog, latest news update, and an attention-getting contact your legislator function. IlluminAge drew high praise from Everett for its understanding of PQC’s goals and strategy, the cost effective web presence it recommended and implemented, and the timeliness with which the project was completed. “What can I say? IlluminAge is the best,” Everett repeated.
