NISC Expands Readership

IlluminAge is pleased to announce an exciting new collaboration with the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC), a membership organization affiliated with our Healthy Aging Briefing partner National Council on Aging (NCOA.) IlluminAge’s bi-monthly eNewsletter on healthy aging and effective care for older adults, Aging in Stride eNews, is now reaching NISC’s members and subscribers through an innovative arrangement designed to involve NISC members in both content development and permission-based reuse of articles. Aging in Stride eNews was originally developed as a periodic supplement to the healthy aging book, Aging in Stride, but has since developed an independent following among older adults, caregivers, and members of the broad aging services network.

“We’re very pleased NISC has selected Aging in Stride eNews as a bi-monthly resource for members,” noted Dennis Kenny, Aging in Stride co-author. “Partnering in this way is a win-win situation: NISC readers have opened up new areas of interest and focus for us; and we, in turn, have been able to offer reuse permission which helps NISC members as they serve their communities.”

Reuse of popular Aging in Stride eNews content by NISC members is arranged through an online reprint center, where reuse guidelines are explained and an interested organization can complete a simple form. Under this procedure, there are no charge for use in a not-for-profit, community education setting.

Aging in Stride eNews is a bi-monthly online publication containing articles and resources for older adults, caregivers and the health and aging services professionals who serve them. The current issue features information on the 2009-2010 flu season and articles on driving safety for older adults. To read future issues of Aging in Stride eNews, subscribe free online.
