
Resident Spotlight on Edward Olejarz
Born on July 7, 1917, Edward Olejarz was raised in Niagara Falls, New York with one sister named Helen. Eddie went to high school for a couple of years and then dropped out to go to Trot Vocational School, where he discovered his interest in machine shop. Ed graduated from Trot as a machinist, and then went to work in a carbide carbon plant. Mr. Olejarz later went on to work at a Dupont plant as a painter, and it was from there that he would retire. Eddie married a wonderful woman named Mary, and they had two daughters, Ruth and Joyce. Ed also has four grandsons. Music has always been a huge part of Edward's life - he has played the accordion since he was sixteen years old, and used to play in his very own Polish orchestra. They even played at weddings! Softball was also another one of Eddie's hobbies. He had his very own special pitch. Nowadays Ed likes to relax, read the newspaper, and watch T.V. He has always been an uncomplicated, easy going guy. When asked what his favorite food in the whole wide world was, Eddie replied, "Pork chops."
