Staff Spotlight on Ron Paden, Evening Cook

Ron Paden was raised in Harford County. He has a half brother and a half sister, and attended C. Milton Wright High School. After high school, Ron worked at the Rite-Aid Distribution Warehouse for a few years, and then traveled overseas to Africa and France. Ron then moved to New Jersey with relatives and worked at a Rite-Aid retail store.

What started as an interest in cooking turned into a career as Ron enrolled in a culinary program in New Brunswick, New Jersey, after departing Rite-Aid. He was there for seven months, and once he graduated, he cooked at a restaurant called A Frog and the Peach. Ron missed Maryland, and so he moved back home. Ron worked at the Maryland Golf and Country Club, and then Sean Bolan’s, furthering his culinary skills. Now, he’s part of the Lorien team, working hard to cook good meals for the residents and staff!

When not working at Lorien, Ron enjoys traveling, nature, politics, and watching movies. His favorite show is “Hardball” with  Chris Matthews, and his favorite food is Mediterranean. He describes himself as a shy, quiet guy who “lives life and regrets nothing.” Ron lives in Bel Air with his pit bull and is very knowledgeable about a number of topics, says his supervisor, Kathy.
