Canada Day
People all across Canada will celebrate Canada’s 141st birthday on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.  This day honors the cultural diversity of Canada, the natural wonders, the beauty, and the heritage of the country. Tens of thousand of people flock to Ottawa, Canada’s capital, to take part in the noon show at Parliament Hill with the Prime Minister, Governor General, and Minister of Canadian Heritage. This flag waving holiday also includes festivals, picnics, music concerts, parades and fireworks. Happy Birthday, Canada!

Independence Day 
The 4th of July celebrates our Independence and Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The town of Bel Air plans to celebrate all day with many special events. The schedule is the following:

6:45 a.m.  Flag Raising
7:00 a.m. Blueberry Pancake Breakfast
8:30 a.m. Horseshoes Pitching
8:30 a.m. Hamster Race
9:00 a.m. Hays House Tours
9:30 a.m. Turtle Derby
10:00 a.m. American History Costume Contest
10:30 a.m. Frog Jumping Contest
11:00 a.m. Bicycle Registration and Rodeo
11:00 a.m. Uncle Sam Says
11:30 a.m. Watermelon Eating Contest
4:30 p.m. Parade Unit Staging
6:00 p.m. Bel Air 4th of July Parade
9:30 p.m. Fireworks
