Resident Spotlight on Helen Lloyd
Helen Lloyd was born and raised in Baltimore on April 19, 1928. She was an only child, and matured quickly as her parents fell ill in her early 20's. Helen took care of both of them, while attending college at the same time. She received her Bachelor's degree in secondary education in 1950, and went back to get her Master's in corrective reading in 1954. Ms. Lloyd never married because the man she was to be engaged to lost his life in the Korean War. After that, Helen never found anyone she wanted to be with for the rest of her life. Helen worked at a variety of schools, including Stemmer's Run Junior High, Golden Ring Junior High, Kenwood High, and Perry Hall High. Some of Helen's hobbies include knitting, crocheting, fishing, photography, singing in the church choir, reading, and listening to good music. Helen can always be relied on to add meaningful insights to bible studies, and you better watch out for her at trivia! She states that she is "comfy" living here, and that "you shouldn't go away mad at someone, bring it to a peaceful conclusion somehow."
