
Resident Spotlight on William Mosca
William Mosca was born on May 18, 1941 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was raised in Baltimore, along with his twin sister and four other sisters. William graduated from Patterson High School. While he was never a full time college student, William took nighttime courses at Dundalk and Essex Community Colleges to further his education. Mr. Mosca earned an apprenticeship for meat cutting when he was 18. Soon after, he was married to his wife, Nancy. They have two sons, William and Tony. William was employed at Food Fair Stores for 37 years as a meat cutter and a meat manager. He was also in a union, which assisted him in paying for his college classes. At one time, he took a leave of absence from Food Fair to work at a meat cutting school. When Food Fair went out of business, Mr. Mosca went to work at Giant, where he finished out his meat-cutting career. William was very active in his community-he fought for many causes and made many positive changes in his neighborhood. To this day, he still keeps up on current events by reading the newspaper and watching the news. William also enjoys playing on his beloved computer. When talking about his activism, William stated, "If they said it couldn't be done, we would do it."
