Blair and Ruth grew up and went to school in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Blair’s line of work was considered a “jack of all trades,” while Ruth worked at Hutslers Department Store. Blair got his certificate in Trade Industrial Teaching at the age of 60, and worked in the Hickey School for 7½ years. They met in 1930, and have been married for 74 years. They have one son, Tom. One of their hobbies was traveling all over the United States. Blair loves anything having to do with the outdoors, including fishing, hunting and gardening, while Ruth enjoys crossword and word searches and bingo.
