Resident Spotlight on William Athas

Mr. Athas, better known as Basil, was raised in Baltimore City with his mother and father. Basil was in the Air Force for four years and then worked at the family restaurant, which he made his career. One of his fondest memories was taking his mother to church every Sunday and becoming a spiritual man who loves the Lord. One great thing about Basil is that he values everyone and is willing to share his beliefs, but never judges anyone. During his life he was married and had four children, but later found the love of his life, Virgina. It was love at first sight. Virgina’s beautiful green eyes and her loving kind heart swept him off his feet. They were married later in life and had 600 people attend their wedding. Basil and Virgina enjoyed going to church together and living their lives according to God’s will. Besides loving his good-hearted wife, he helped establish the Four Evangelists Orthodox Mission and now he has a great opportunity to share his faith with others here at Lorien Bel Air.
