
Resident Spotlight on Doris Dunkes
Doris Pilkerton Dunkes was born on July 26, 1922. She was raised in Baltimore City with one sister. Doris held the distinction of being the first female teller employed at a bank called Equitable Trust. She married William John Dunkes and had three girls: Dorothy, Kathaleen, and Mary Susan. William and Doris were happily married for 58 years, and they loved to travel. Some of Doris' hobbies include working on crossword puzzles, reading novels, attending Bible study, and snacking on candy. Doris says that she "does the best she can" and that nothing beats a plate of sour beef and dumplings!
