 National Adult Day Services Association 30-Year Anniversary Annual Conference 2009 October 8-10, 2009 The Red Lion, Seattle, Washington Enriching Lives and Empowering Each Other Through Wellness & Creativity The National Adult Day Services Association in partnership with the Washington Adult Day Services Association invites you to join your colleagues from the United States and Canada in Seattle, Washington, October 8-10, 2009. Our Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary Celebration will be hosted at the Red Lion Hotel in downtown Seattle, within blocks of the Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Aquarium, Space Needle, an array of restaurants and shopping and much more. | Note from the Membership Committee Please look for the membership table at our conference in Seattle. There will be information, prizes, an opportunity to join for those who have not. | This annual conference will offer two special keynote presentations. On Friday, October 9, Anne Basting, Founder and Director of Timeslips National Training Program from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee will present "Forget Memory, Try Imagination:Transforming Care through Creative Engagement." On Saturday, October 10, Lydia Missaelides, Executive Director at the California Association for Adult Day Services in Sacramento, California will present "National Policy and Health Reform for the Future of Adult Day Services." A pre-conference intensive on Thursday, October 8 features Anne Basting's workshop "TimeSlips: Creative Storytelling with People with Dementia." Eighteen concurrent sessions on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 offer a variety of topics to help move your business forward. This celebratory conference will be very exciting, educational and fun, providing a variety of sessions that will empower you to be equipped, be prepared and be inspired to enrich lives through wellness and creativity. Are you arriving for the conference early Thursday? Join us on October 8 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. as we tour Legacy House, a local Adult Day Center located in the heart of Seattle's International District. Those interested in visiting Legacy House should plan to meet at the Hotel conference registration desk at 12:45 p.m. There is no fee. We will take a city bus and then walk three blocks to the center. If you would like to attend but are concerned about mobility issues, Legacy House is a short $5 cab ride from the hotel and we are happy to help coordinate the trip.
