ORCA is Here!

Seven Puget Sound Area transit agencies have introduced ORCA ("One Regional Card for All"). The agencies included are Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro, Kitsap Transit, Sound Transit and the Washington State Ferries.

ORCA card readerORCA uses smart card technology to automatically account for different fares and transfers on Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit, Kitsap Transit, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Washington State Ferries.

You can load transportation value on your personal ORCA card online, over the phone, by mail, at participating retail and ORCA customer service locations, or at ticket vending machines on rail station platforms. Or use our convenient Autoload option, a recurring fund transfer from your credit card to keep your card loaded with a current pass or E-purse value.

Just tap the card on the ORCA logo on the card reader on the bus, at the ferry terminal or at the train or light rail station.

After you tap, the card reader automatically accounts for the correct fare. The card does the math for you. It calculates transfers and reduced fares. If your card is loaded with E-purse value, it will also show you the amount used, and how much value remains on your card. In addition, you can view the status of your card at self-serve ticket vending machines, at participating retailers, or by calling ORCA Customer Service or TTY Relay: 711. Registered cardholders can also check their card status online at www.orcacard.com.

With the introduction of ORCA, there is also a new Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) for seniors and people with disabilities. The current RRFP will still be honored. To get an ORCA RRFP, visit your local transit agency customer service office. The new cards are free as long as you turn in your current RRFP.

For more information, contact ORCA Customer Service during business hours or visit us online. If you currently receive a transit benefit from your employer or other organization, ask them how to get an ORCA card.
