Area Plan Updates Open for Public Comment
Karen Winston, ADS Planner
ADS invites comment on updates to our 2008-2011 Area Plan on Aging. The Area Plan charts the course that ADS will follow as we seek to create an elder friendly community. The plan is written every four years and updated biennially to include progress and revisions on goals and objectives, and reflect the most current budget. The 2010-2011 update is subject to a public review process and then submitted to the State for final approval. ADS will accept comments through Friday, August 14, 2009. As you review the following documents, please inform us of anything that needs further development, clarification, or if you have any suggestions regarding the allocations. - Proposed 2010-2011 Revised Area Plan Objectives—The Area Plan is required to be updated every two years. The primary components updated are the budget and objectives.
- Draft Area Plan Report Card, 2008-2009—The Area Plan Report Card highlights accomplishments and progress made on several 2008-2011 Area Plan on Aging objectives due during 2008 and 2009.
- 2010 Recommended Service Area Discretionary Allocations—ADS Discretionary funds are primarily made up of federal Older Americans Act (OAA) and state Senior Citizens Services Act (SCSA) funds. The mid-year addition of 2009 OAA services funds of $316,048 is expected to be in the 2010 base funding from the state. The allocation sheet reflects the final 2009 service area allocations.
