Sound Steps Spring Training February 5 & 6 North and South Seattle Locations The Sound Steps walking program for adults age 50+ is about to start its third annual "Spring Training" program, preparing participants to walk in a 5K, 10K and/or Half Marathon event especially for seniors. Training walks are free and take place on Saturday mornings in North and South Seattle locations beginning in February. New this year is a specialized program in South Seattle that increases distance at a more gradual rate, along with our regular program—perfect for beginning walkers! North Seattle Kick-Off: Friday, February 5, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N 85th St. South Seattle Kick-Off: Saturday, February 6, 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Van Asselt Community Center, 2820 S. Caring for A Parent with Memory Loss Wednesday, February 17 7:00 to 8:30 pm Kirkland Congregational Church 106 - 5th Ave. Kirkland Support group meetings for adults caring for parents with memory loss on third Wednesdays beginning in February. Gain support from others also caring for a parent with memory loss, and learn about available services, current research and treatment options. Senior Lobby Day Thursday, February 18 The annual gathering day in Olympia is an opportunity to meet with legislators and urge support for senior issues. The Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens' Coffee Hours bring community elders closer to City officials, providing elders an opportunity to learn more about City programs and services and officials an opportunity to hear from elders.
