Be Well Washington—Family Health Week August 2-7
Health Fair, Saturday, August 7, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Location: Qwest Field and various locations Be Well Washington is a week-long series of classes at various locations, August 2-6, culminating in a free health fair at Qwest Field on Saturday, August 7. The event is sponsored by KING 5, Regence, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Seattle Sounders. Bring your family and learn the benefits of health, wellness and an active lifestyle. During the week, classes will be held throughout the state in various locaions, including the Seattle office for the Alzheimer's Association (100 W. Harrison St). The classes are free and open to the public. Activities for Family Health Week and the Be Well Health Fair include: - Complimentary health screenings

Special Needs Transportation Grant Planning Workshop August 17 in Olympia; September 19 in Spokane Grant released August 6 Puget Sound Regional Council will be releasing an application for Special Needs Transportation grants on August 6. Human Services agencies may apply for funds related to special needs transportation projects for children, low-income adults, persons with disabilities and older adults. LGBT Elder Summit Thursday, September 16 Location: ACRS, 3639 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S, Seattle Time: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The LGBT summit will provide a forum for discussion and learning about how to make social and health services for LGBTQ elders accessible, safe and inclusive for people from all cultures and all walks of life.
