Healthy Aging Partnership - 2010 Aging At Home Initiative
Grant Opportunity. The Healthy Aging Partnership (HAP) is excited to announce the availability of mini-grants for their 2010 Aging At Home Initiative. These grants will allow teams of community members to implement projects to help older adults live longer, healthier lives while remaining in their homes and communities. HAP invites teams to apply for funding for up to $5,000 to implement projects in King County. The Healthy Aging Partnership is a coalition of more than 30 nonprofit, government and community organizations, primarily in King County. The mission of the HAP coalition is to promote healthy aging through community partnerships. Our vision is a supportive community that provides information and resources and fosters healthy choices for all people as we age. HAP's Aging at Home Initiative is an effort to support people who plan to grow old in their homes and stay active in their communities. This is enhanced by community-led efforts that coordinate innovative services, products, activities, and technologies to encourage safe, happy, and affordable aging at home. To be eligible, project teams must include a minimum of four members with at least two members being 55 years of age or older, and one agency to serve as the fiscal sponsor. The fiscal sponsor must be a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization. Applications will be accepted through 12:00 noon on Monday, November 1, 2010. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by November 19. Click here for grant information. Click here for a grant application. Aging at Home Workshop.
