Pain and Older Adults

The American Chronic Pain Association offers resources and support for people with chronic pain and their families.

The American Pain Foundation is a non-profit organization whose website focuses on pain research and management. Their website features "Pain Questions and Answers," including information about the addiction issue.  

The National Pain Foundation is an online community of people who are experienceing pain, their families, and physicians. The website contains a thorough overview of pain types, treatments and support options.

Fighting Fraud

AARP's new program, "Weapons of Fraud," was developed to combat the tactics of criminals who target the elderly with sweepstakes scams and other rip-offs. The Seattle Times ran an article highlighting this program on July 31, and the online version of the article includes additional information and audiotapes of these scam artists at work. Members of the public are invited to participate in the "Weapons of Fraud" program by joining the Fraud Fighting Force.
