Employment and Older Workers

The AARP website's "Money and Work" section includes information about midlife career changes, finding a job, age discrimination, and suggestions for employees who are also family caregivers.

The U.S. Administration on Aging offers resources and information for older adults and employers in "Workforce and Aging Information Notes."   

The Washington State Employment Security Department Labor Market Information website discusses "Older Workers and Elderly Workers" in our state. 

"Workplace generation gap: Understand differences among colleagues"in the Mayo Clinic Online website offers insights into lessening workplace tensions when people of different generations work side by side.

September 25 - October 1 is National Adult Immunization Awareness Week

As the flu season approaches, information about this year's vaccines and the spread of influenza will appear on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website's Influenza Information Center. Information will also shortly be released to promote National Adult Immunization Awareness Week.

More information about immunization can be found on the websites of the National Partnership for Immunization and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID). NFID now offers Campaign Kit 2005 to promote immunization during 2005.    

Healthy Aging Month

The Healthy Aging Campaign's official website offers resources and information about this national campaign, as well as information for consumers.

The CDC website also includes a section about healthy aging, as well as Healthy Aging:Preventing Disease and Improving Quality of Life Among Older Americans, a report on the top five strategies for improving the health and quality of life of America's seniors.
