Partners

Sound Steps is a free community walking program for people age 50 and better in the Seattle area, run through Parks and Recreation. Group walks are held weekly at numerous neighborhood centers throughout the city and led by trained volunteers. The goal of the program is to improve the health and quality of life for seniors by promoting exercise, social interaction, and community involvement.

The UW Health Promotion Research Center conducts community-based research projects aimed at promoting the health and well-being of Washington State residents, with a focus on older adults.  Its mission is to improve health by conducting high-quality prevention research that has an emphasis on healthy aging and can be incorporated into community practice.

Puget Sound Neighborhood Health Centers’ mission is to provide comprehensive healthcare to families and individuals who have difficulty accessing care; to respond with sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse patients; and to advocate and work with others to improve the overall health status of the communities they serve.
