Don and his partner MickOn-demand viewing on the Seattle Channel

In this poignant video, five people from the LGBT community share their experiences as caregivers. Their stories of caring for parents, partners, friends and siblings highlight both the universal experiences of caregiving and the unique challenges faced by caregivers in the LGBT community.

This 30 minute video was created for a workshop at the first NW LGBT Elder Conference, held in June 2007. The show was produced for Senior Services by Wayne Bitterman, and features Don Moreland, ADS Advisory Council Chair, sharing his story of caring for his partner.

Caregiving in LGBT Families is available for on-demand viewing on the Seattle Channel. Click here to view the video. Online viewers may need to download Real Player, a free media player software. The Seattle Channel is a government access channel whose programs are intended to help citizens connect with their city and highlight the area’s the diverse civic and cultural landscape.
