SeniorCorps volunteerThe Mayor’s Office for Senior Citizens invites you to explore part- and full-time volunteer opportunities with AmeriCorps, VISTA, JustServe, Senior Corps and Citizen Corps.  Learn about the new skills, friends and experiences you can gain through community service, as well as the possibility of receiving an education award and/or a modest stipend to offset the cost of volunteering.  Explore opportunities for your future! Hear from current and former “mature heroes” who built their bridge to a new beginning while serving their community and country.

Speakers include:

  • Ian Dapiaoen, Solid Ground (formerly Fremont Public Association)
  • Ginger Seybold, ElderHealth Northwest AmeriCorps

Aging Readiness: The Legislative Challenge

The Seattle/King County Advisory Council on Aging and Disability Services and the Pierce County Aging and Long Term Care Advisory Board present their bi-annual Legislative Forum. The free event will feature advocacy training and overviews of the state legislative process, as well as panels and guest speakers on federal and state issues important to older adults and people with disabilities.

Lunch and refreshments provided. Online registration opens July 15.
