You can make BIG difference in the life of a child. Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is a fun and easy way to benefit your community in a BIG way. All you have to do is spend timing having fun with a local child! Attend one of several information sessions to learn more. Volunteers will be paired with a Little Brother or Sister at a nearby elementary school, where you will talk, have fun, and work on academics together. Village Concept Information Session Northeast Seattle Library 6801 35th Ave NE Seattle 98115 Friday, March 13, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. A grassroots community is now forming in NE Seattle that will be dedicated to insuring that as we grow older, we can continue to live in our own home, in the neighborhood we love. It's called the Village Concept and is an innovative, new approach to aging in place that is inspiring persons 50 plus to organize, incorporate, and take charge. These "virtual villages" build community and help reduce social isolation and are modeled after Beacon Hill Village in Boston.
