Aging and Disability Services Needs Your Input
Karen Winston, ADS Planner
Tell us what you think! Aging and Disability Services creates 2012–2015 Area Plan on Aging for King County Help Aging and Disability Services (ADS) create a plan to identify key strategies that will promote quality of life, independence and choice for older people and adults with disabilities. The plan, known as the Area Plan on Aging for King County, will guide our work as the Area Agency on Aging from 2012 through 2015. To kick off the Area Plan process, ADS will conduct a community questionnaire, community conversations, and a Focus on the Future Forum: - We invite you to participate in the questionnaire; we especially encourage residents who are age 60 and older or adults with disabilities to respond. Ideas from older adults, their families, caregivers and professionals are very important in the planning process. Please tell us what you think! The questionnaire will be posted at www.agingkingcounty.org and will close on April 29, 2011. Click here to complete the questionnaire. (See below for information on obtaining the questionnaire in another format.) We estimate that it should only take about 10 minutes to complete.
- Save the date! Focus on the Future Forum—The Role of Area Agencies on Aging in implementing the Affordable Care Act will be held in King County on April 6, 2011, 10:00 a.m. - noon, at the Sea-Tac Airport Conference Center. ADS will announce more specific details soon.
- Between March and May, ADS will also sponsor three community conversations, designed primarily for older adults and people with disabilities, to find out what your community needs are.
A draft Area Plan will be available for public review and comment at public hearings scheduled during July and August.
