Help Us Help Seniors in Your Community
by Maria Langlais
Take a moment to complete a brief survey Finding help when you need it can be a daunting task. Navigating the maze of community and government programs is much easier when you have a helping hand to guide you. Information & Assistance (I&A) programs provide this helping hand, making it easier for older adults and their families to access resources that meet their needs. Aging & Disability Services (ADS) of Seattle-King County, the locally designated Area Agency on Aging, provides local and federal funding for two types of I&A programs. The primary I&A program is a telephone-based program serving all of King County. Specialized I&A provides linguistic and culturally appropriate services to ethnic communities and/or persons living in specific geographic locations.
To ensure that seniors from a variety of communities have access to services, ADS will conduct a Request for Proposals (RFP) process to distribute funds for Specialized I&A.
As part of that process, we would like broad input from the community. Please take a few moments to complete an online survey, which will help us make these important funding decisions.
