Did your home suffer damage during the November and December Storms? If so, there are some important deadlines coming up. - February 5 is the last day to report damage from the December rain and wind storm to your local municipality.
- February 11 is the last day to register with FEMA for damage caused by the mid-November floods.
For the November Flooding For those who suffered damage and made a report for the November flooding event (11/ 2–11/11), a Presidential Disaster declaration HAS been made for the State, and home and business owners in King County with uninsured losses should register with FEMA to see if they qualify for assistance. To register, call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 or on-line at www.fema.gov. For the December 14 Rain and Wind Storm City of Seattle residents can report damage by calling the Citizens Service Bureau at (206) 684-2489. For those outside the City of Seattle who have suffered damage of 40% or more of the fair market value to their home, the Seattle Office of Emergency Management strongly urges you to make a report to your local municipal Emergency Management Office. Residents of unincorporated King County should contact the King County Office of Emergency Management at (206) 296-3830. The collective damage reports received will be used in a request for federal disaster assistance. If a Presidential Disaster Declaration is made for the State and the County, private citizens may be eligible for financial help for uninsured losses in the form of small grants from Federal Emergency Management Agency and loans from the United States Small Business Administration.
