National Family Caregivers Month observed every November is a nationally recognized month that seeks to draw attention to the many challenges facing family caregivers, and to raise awareness about community programs that support family caregivers. National Family Caregiver Month is a time to thank, support, educate, and celebrate more than 50 million family caregivers across the country. This November, the theme for National Family Caregiver Month is "Caring for Every Day." The theme corresponds with a new campaign sponsored by the National Family Caregivers Association, The Caring Every Day Campaign, which encourages family caregivers to take three steps every day to make their lives easier, improve care and raise awareness about their continued love and commitment. The three steps are: Believe in Yourself Protect Your Health Reach Out for Help Other Caregiver Programs In the News.... Multi-Purpose CAA Provides Support to Family Caregivers Multi-Purpose CAA (Community Action Agency) is a non-profit agency that since 1974 has been providing a wide range of community services to the KIPDA Rural Region (Shelby, Spencer, Bullitt, Henry, Oldham, and Trimble). The agency continuously strives to help seniors and their caregivers live as comfortably and independently as possible. As a non-profit agency, their compassionate and caring staff are dedicated to serving the community they share with you. The Caregivers Program offers: - Respite, which enables caregivers to get temporary relief from their caregiving responsibilities
- Support Groups to assist the caregivers in making decisions and solving problems relating to their caregiving role
- Trainings to provide caregivers with an opportunity to enhance their skill level and capabilities in providing care.
