JFVS Caregiver Support Services
It is becoming a common occurrence for spouses, adult children and other family members to assume the role of caregiver for an aging relative. Jewish Family & Vocational Service (JFVS) understands the stresses that this causes an individual and their family. Help is only a phone call away....
Geriatric specialists are available to help caregivers learn about community resources, general aging issues, self-care, long-term care planning, managing multi-generational needs, stress management, mobilizing support and delegating responsibilities. Sessions can be held in our office, your home or over the phone for the caregiver's convenience.
Professional staff work with individuals to manage a wide array of feelings, stress and anxiety associated with caregiving and assist caregivers in managing family relationships. Sessions can be held in your home or our office.
The groups provide members with the opportunity for mutual problem solving and to learn about general aging issues, boundary setting, self-care, establishing realistic expectations and resources. The group is facilitated by a trained geriatric counselor. Meetings are held at the following locations each month:
7:00pm Belmont Village
7:00pm Highland Presbyterian
12:00 p.m. Highland Presbyterian
7:00pm Atria St. Matthews
7:00pm St. Francis Xavier
