Henry County Senior Center Opens

On December 18, 2007 Henry County senior citizens had the official ribbon cutting ceremony on the new Henry County Senior Citizens Center in the new Henry County Park on U.S. 421.

Although the building only took six months of construction and is already in use, the ceremony capped several years of hard work by the seniors and local officials. The project ran approximately $570,000, for which a state grant funded $500,000. The Henry County Fiscal Court donated approximately $25,000, and the seniors raised more than $40,000. 

The end result is a cheerful, sunny and open area for the many activities the center offers.  The center will offer nutritious meals, activities, exercise and friendship for those who visit.  The new building will also be the new home for the Tri-county Community Action Agency.  You can find out more by calling (502) 845-7808.
