KIPDA Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program Eligibility

To be eligible for the Kentucky Family Caregiver Program a grandparent shall meet the following requirements:

  1. Reading with GrandmaBe a Kentucky resident, residing in the seven county KIPDA regions of Bullitt, Oldham, Jefferson, Shelby, Spencer, Henry, and Trimble.

  2. Be the primary caregiver for their grandchild.

  3. Be related to the grandchild by birth, marriage, or adoption, if adoption occurs through the parent.

  4. Reside with the grandchild who shall not be residing in the same household with the grandchild’s parent(s). Grandparent and grandchild may reside in a house owned by the grandchild’s parent.

  5. Grandchild may not receive a monthly payment from the Kinship Care program.

  6. The household income cannot exceed 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
