
KIPDA Newsletter Receives Positive Images of Aging Award

 | | The online edition of the Midsummer 2008 KIPDA newsletter _______________________ | | The Midsummer Edition of the KIPDA newsletter was awarded the 2008 Positive Images of Aging Award. This award was established by the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging (SE4A) to recognize groups, agencies, or businesses in the private and/or public sector who have, through their efforts, presented a positive image of older adults or individuals, and whose platform has impacted a large market. The Midsummer Edition of the KIPDA Newsletter was dedicated to the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program. The issue highlighted the 2008 Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Conference held on May 31, 2008; it featured two testimonials from two grandparents enrolled in the program, articles on The KIPDA Grandparent Raising Grandchildren |  | | The corresponding print edition of the Midsummer 2008 KIPDA newsletter | | Program, and a child safety checklist, as well as content convering the DTV conversion and the Economic Stimulus payments. KIPDA's responsibilities are many, targeting a variety of populations including grandparents raising grandchildren. Throughout the KIPDA region, grandparents are finding themselves with the primary responsibility of being caregivers for their grandchildren. The KIPDA Grandparent Raising Grandchildren Program provides assistance with clothing, respite services, legal services, medical and dental services, counseling services, and community resources. KIPDA utilizes every resource to ensure that grandparents in our region are aware of programs to assist with caregiver responsibilities. KIPDA is dedicated to changing the lives of Grandparents Raising their Grandchildren.
