Charges for forgery, meth possession and theft could be facing the Oregon woman who purchased a $1 million winning lottery card, police said. The credit card she purchased the ticket with allegedly belonged to a deceased relative.

Anxious in North Carolina

It will probably be April or later before anyone is able to buy a North Carolina lottery ticket, according to the lottery commissioner in charge of laying down rules for contractors.

Finders May Be Keepers

After finding a $1 million lottery ticket in a trashcan earlier this month, Edward St. John has abandoned his garbage-sifting pastime. St. John found the ticket on Oct. 10, during his daily look through the silver garbage can inside the White Hen Pantry on Main Street.  Another customer, who remains anonymous, later filed a claim with the Massachusetts Lottery Commission, saying he bought the Texas Hold 'Em Poker scratch ticket and mistakenly threw it away.
