The North Carolina General Assembly returns for session next week with plenty of fine-tuning to do on the lottery bill that was passed last August. Some of the major issues on the table are money towards education, raising the percentage of ticket revenues and loosening advertising restrictions and spending limits.

Maria Gomez, 49, who was accused of lottery scams in both Illinois and Florida and featured on the TV show America's Most Wanted, was arrested in El Paso, Texas. Gomez was arrested by Border Patrol and is one of three suspects who tricked the elderly into giving them money to cash fake lottery tickets.
