Summer Memories
Prosperity Partners
Summer is a fantastic time of year to daydream about all of the ways to spend the long, hot days ahead. But before you get too drawn in by watermelon, Frisbee and parades...be careful to not overlook your money commitments. There's a good chance there are many demands on your money like college, mortgage payments, braces, retirement planning, and especially during the summer vacation! With all of these demands begging for your dollars, it is important to develop a goal hierarchy, or a series of financial goals ranked by importance. Create goals for yourself, and write them down to help solidify them. But how do you make sure that you actually meet or exceed the goals you set? Develop a plan. Set a budget that you can stay committed to that still leaves money left over for indulgence. You can even include an investment strategy, or how you actually plan to invest your money to help you meet your goals. There are various investment strategies for every comfort level, ranging from increased security to increased risk. Finally, its time for action! - Implement and track your budget.
- Notice your spending habits and monitor your investments.
- Take on tracking every dollar you spend over a period of time, and you may be surprised how much extra money is spent on items like coffee and premium parking each month.
Tweak your plan as you go along, but never take your eye off the goals that you recorded above. Answer to "Best Man Trivia":
A. In 200 A.D., Germanic Goth men of northern Europe traveled to neighboring villages to find a wife.
