Gambling Tip of the Month
Prosperity Partners
Craps is often one of the most confusing and intimidating games on the floor. If you've ever wanted to play, but were scared because you didn't know the rules, here's some tips to get you started. - The basic bet in Craps is called the "Pass Line" bet, where your bet is placed on the area of the table marked as "Pass Line." This bet is a series bet, meaning the dice may have to be rolled multiple times before you win or lose.
- The first roll in a series bet is called the "come-out" roll and a 7 or 11 are automatic Pass Line winners. Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 (all known as craps) are automatic Pass Line losers.
- Any other number rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) becomes the shooter's point and they roll the dice continuously until they either roll their point again or a seven.
- If a number other than the point or a 7 is rolled, nothing happens (as far as Pass Line bettors are concerned) and the shooter rolls again. If the point is rolled, Pass Line bets win. If a 7 is rolled, Pass Line bets lose.
Remember: for Pass Line bets, rolling a 7 on the come-out roll is a winner; rolling a 7 after that is a loser! Good luck! Answer to "Gambling Trivia":
A: They represent civilizations that have influenced our culture. Spades represent the Middle East of Biblical times, clubs represent Greece, diamonds represent the Roman Empire, and hearts represent the Holy Roman Empire.
