What is your meaning of life? Whatever your answer, it can be agreed upon that life is certainly filled with choices. Think about the choice you made to play the lottery when you won. Was it a spur of the moment decision or a weekly planned action? Did you let someone go in line before you? How did you decide upon the exact scratch-off game, or the numbers that you played? All choices, that if done differently, might have not resulted in a jackpot win. 

So how do you know which choice will lead you to your next big win in life? Simply put, make choices that place you in a position to succeed. You can't win without playing. Your choice to play the lottery made you a potential winner. A choice to not play would have made you a certain loser. 

Liberty

"I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death." This last sentence in Patrick Henry's famous speech raised a crowd, including Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, to their feet shouting their approval. Henry's passion helped ignite others to action, and war for independence began.

What can we learn from Henry's speech? Maybe it's that we should ask ourselves if we are currently acting on our own passions. Would you like to open your own business, buy a house or help those less fortunate? Whatever your passion is, you have the ability to pursue it based on the principles of Liberty that our founding fathers fought so hard for.

Pursuit of Happiness

A part of being human is the pursuit of being something better, maybe even without fully understanding what the something is. You can pursue happiness in all areas of your life. And you can be happy right now, while you are pursuing it. 

Are we spending more time pursuing more happiness for tomorrow and forgetting about today? When you reach your financial goals, what will be the costs of that pursuit?

Abraham Lincoln perhaps summed it up best when he said, "A man is likely to be just about as happy as he makes his mind up to be." Be sure to take the time and enjoy where you are in your life now. It is almost guaranteed that 20 years from now you will look back and wish for these days all over again.
