Moss Bay Rowing, Kayaking and Sailing Center is buzzing all summer long with Seattleites and visitors of all ages, sizes and ability enjoying Lake Union and taking in the sights. Since 1986, Moss Bay Rowing Club, located on South Lake Union at 1001 Fairview Avenue N., has provided year round adult boating opportunities and youth summer recreation programs. Within minutes of arriving at Moss Bay, you can be out on the lake to row, sail or sea kayak. Here are some tips for taking advantage of the opportunities Moss Bay Rowing Club offers: - Summer hours of operation begin June 12th, open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM (Sunrise to Sunset the rest of the year)
- Register early for youth summer programs - sessions begin June 25th and fill up quickly
- Summer programs are available to kids between the ages of 6-13
Novice to the water? You can sign up for one of Moss Bay's 90-minute lessons and learn the basic skills of rowing, kayaking or sailing. Learn water safety and boat handling techniques to equip you with the skills and confidence to paddle, row, or sail on your own. Moss Bay specializes in small class sizes to maximize individual attention. If you want to have a birthday or special occasion party at Moss Bay, you may reserve the Moss Bay Events Center, www.mossbayevents.com, which is adjacent to their dock Lake Union is a terrific amenity all the time, and no more so than on a sunny, warm summer day.
