Urban Form Study

South Lake Union Friends and Neighbors (SLUFAN) is the community council responsible for developing and ensuring the implementation of the neighborhood plan in South Lake Union. 

In January 2008, SLUFAN will initiate the SLU Urban Form Study with a two-day charrette (i.e., planning session) to consider urban form policy options.  The Urban Form Charrette is designed to develop specific alternatives for further study in an Environmental Impact Statement review related to changing height and density in the South Lake Union neighborhood.  As these potential changes will affect more than just South Lake Union, the SLUFAN Community Council is seeking to engage stakeholders from both the immediate and surrounding neighborhoods in considering possible options. 

The dates, times and locations are as follows: 
  
> Pre-Charrette Informational Presentations

• Wednesday, January 9, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Stakeholders will review the charrette objectives and planning principles.  The public is welcome to observe.  Located at The Armory at Lake Union Park, 860 Terry Ave N.

> Day 1 of Urban Form Charrette

• Friday, January 18, 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. Includes a one hour open house at the conclusion of the charrette.  Located at NBBJ, 223 Yale Ave. N.
  

> Day 2 of Urban Form Charrette

• Saturday, January 19, 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Includes a one hour open house at the conclusion of the charrette.  Located at NBBJ, 223 Yale Ave. N.

The SLUFAN Community Council welcomes the public to attend the meetings to observe.  A public open house will be held during the last hour of each day of the charrette to hear public input.  Your involvement will make this effort, and ultimately the neighborhood, more successful.
