I joined the board because I am a resident of, business owner in, and property owner in South Lake .jpg) | | Mike Kenney | Union and would like to play an active role in the reshaping of this neighborhood. What is your affiliation with SLU? I am a resident of SLU, I manage a public parking garage on 9th Ave and Broad St, and I own and operate a small valet company in SLU called K Suite Valet. What is your favorite thing to do in SLU? I love walking through South Lake Union. What is your favorite restaurant in SLU? 13 Coins is probably my favorite, but to be honest I haven't eaten at many restaurants in the area. Mike McQuaid Why did you join the board? The development of South Lake Union is one of the most important revitalizations of a Seattle neighborhood that I will experience in my lifetime. As someone who grew up in Seattle and has worked .jpg) | | Mike McQuaid | here for the majority of my career, it’s a responsibility to be involved in this vibrant neighborhood as it becomes a new gateway to our city. As a leader of a non-profit in the community, there is a tremendous opportunity to give back to those that live, work, own property and visit the neighborhood. It’s our responsibility to serve as a resource to others looking to make a difference here. What is your affiliation with SLU? I am a Trustee of The Steamship Virginia V Foundation and I also live near the neighborhood just off of Westlake on the east side of Queen Anne Hill. What is your favorite thing to do in SLU? My wife Shannon and I enjoy walking our dog weekend mornings on the docks of the Center for Wooden Boats. What is your favorite restaurant in SLU? Portage Bay Café for breakfast
