Meet Yun Pitre
What's New in SLU
What's New In SLU gives a warm welcome to Yun Pitre, Lake Union's new District Coordinator in Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods. In this position, Yun will play a lead liaison role between SLUFAN and other South Lake Union stakeholders and the City. Yun is no newcomer to community outreach work. She comes to the District Coordinator's position after serving as Community Outreach Coordinator for Link Light Rail with Sound Transit. She has worked with diverse communities, organizing meetings, coordinating and presenting information, and working with businesses and contractors to fully communicate and understand the impacts and assistance needed for transportation construction. With her strong background in community relations, Yun understands the level of trust needed to do outreach and community work. Before her work with Sound Transit, Yun was a Neighborhood Traffic Control Program Coordinator with the City of Kent. She is known and respected as a detail person. As part of her work with Sound Transit, Yun worked directly with Mayor Nickels and the Mayor's office, which will serve her well as she helps the Lake Union District. Yun, who was born and South Korea and moved to the U.S. when she was 10, is married and has two children. She's a graduate of the University of Washington. In her free time, Yun enjoys reading, family time, and a game of football with friends.
