>Cinema on the LawnCalendar

Pack your picnics, blankets and low back chairs and get ready for Friday nights of fun at South Lake Union’s Cinema On The Lawn behind the SLU Discovery Center.  Festivities begin at 7 PM on 4 summer Friday evenings – June 29th, July 13th and 27th and August 10th.  Come early and enjoy gourmet food by Whole Foods, the Redhook beer garden, music and more!  Your $5 suggested donation benefits KEXP 90.3 FM, KUOW 94.9 FM and The Seattle International Film Festival.  The June 29th showing will kick off the summer’s festivities, with Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  For a complete movie schedule and more details, visit: http://www.cinemaonthelawn.com/

>South Lake Union Block Party

Bring your families, friends, live music mojo, beer-hoisting arm and appetite to this year’s South Lake Union Block Party.  The party is held on Friday, August 10th from noon to 11 p.m. at the NW corner of Westlake and Denny Way.  For more information visit: http://www.slublockparty.com/.  

>Cascade People’s Center Presents Concert in the Park

>Weekly Events at the Center for Wooden Boats

The 31st Annual Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival and Classic Speedboat Show is June 30th through July 4th.  The theme of the event is heritage wooden boats.  All activities can be done by young and old together from toy boat building, sailing model boats on the pond, boat rides and races to picnicking, festive food and music.  Almost everything is free and nothing is fancy.  It’s as grassroots American as you can get and has been for the last 30 years!  For more details and a complete summer calendar of events, visit: http://www.cwb.org/CalendarSeattle.htm

>Neighborhood Plan Prioritization Open House

The South Lake Union Friends and Neighbors Council has been in discussion with the Cascade Neighborhood Council about future plans for the neighborhood.  There will be an open house held on June 26 at the Armory in Lake Union Park at 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. for the community to provide their input on neighborhood plans.
