South Lake Union Gets In Motion This Fall!

SLUFAN is pleased to announce that King County Metro, in
partnership with the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce, the Cascade People’s Center and dozens of local businesses, is working to get SLU residents and employees out of their cars this fall. South Lake Union In Motion, a healthy travel choices trip reduction program, launched in early September and will run through mid November
 
SLU In Motion provides information on how to travel “green” – because choosing to make fewer drive alone car trips is better for our health, our wallets, our community and our environment. Those who register for SLU In Motion receive 10 METRO FREE RIDE TICKETS and access (either by mail or online) to a wide variety of information on how easy it is to bus, bike, walk or boat to get around SLU instead of driving.
 
Participants who pledge to cut at least two drive alone trips each week and report their saved trips earn incentives from King County Metro and are also eligible for prize drawings. Rewards include gift certificates from local retail sponsors as well as major prizes like free electric boat rentals from The Electric Boat Company, a weekend’s use of a Flexcar Mini Cooper, a deluxe spa package from Level III Medispa and Seahawks tickets with a VIP sideline tour donated by Vulcan, Inc.

Made up of SLU employers who share the belief that their employees and the neighborhood benefit when car trips are reduced, Employer Green Team members are “going the extra mile” to encourage their employees to participate in South Lake Union In Motion either by providing extra incentives or promoting In Motion in a variety of ways.
