Free Event for Film Fans

Attention movie buffs: Mark your calendar for the second annual Cinema on the Lawn Outdoor Film Series set for 30 minutes after dusk every other Friday from July 11 to August 8 on the lawn outside the South Lake Union Discovery Center at Denny and Westlake. This free event, which supports KEXP 90.3 and the Seattle International Film Festival, will feature high school-themed films this year. Movie choices include:

Friday, July 11 – The KEXP 90.3 DJ will select. Choices include Say Anything (PG-13), Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Heathers. Listeners can vote online at www.kexp.org or www.cinemaonthelawn.com to help make the final selection.

Friday, July 25 – Bring It On (PG-13) This film, made in 2000, is about a high school cheer squad that discovers its previous captain stole the best routines from an inner-city school and must scramble to compete at this year's championships.

Friday, August 8 – Juno (PG-13) - Nominated this year for Best Picture this charming film chronicles the journey of a pregnant young girl with some decisions to make.
