VCAL Symposium On-line Registration Now Available

This year’s Assisted Living Symposium, scheduled for July 17th at the Holiday Inn Select Koger Center in Richmond, will feature:

• Updates from the Board of Long Term Care Administrators on the status of ALF Administrator licensure and the process for disciplinary actions and investigation of unprofessional conduct.
• The status of Medication Aides and an update on the Med Aide Registry and looming deadline for all staff administering medications in ALFs to be on the Registry.
• Protocols in the DSS inspection process and how agencies will be notified when serious violations occur in ALFs. 
• Changes in VA Laws on Durable DNR Orders and Durable Powers of Attorney and how the changes impact operations.
• Medication Management in assisted living, and a “primer on wound care” including identification, prevention and reporting of pressure ulcers.
