House Passes Bill Repealing One-Year Delay to Rug-IV System

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) along with the Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care praised the passage by the House of Representatives of H.R. 5712, the Veterans', Seniors' and Children's Health Technical Corrections Act of 2010. Under the bill, RUG-IV would take effect October 1, 2010 not October 1, 2011, as was stated in the healthcare reform legislation.  The bill would eliminate the one-year delay to the RUG-IV case-mix classification system and is expected to be passed by the Senate where it is likely to be viewed as noncontroversial.
