VDH CHANGES MAILING OF LICENSES 12/1/02

The Center for Quality Health Care Services and Consumer Protection has informed VHCA about a change in the process for mailing nursing facility and home care licenses.  Licenses will be mailed this year on December 6, December 13, and December 20.  This will result in staggered receipt of licenses for those providers that are part of a chain or corporation.  Providers are instructed to retain their current licenses in place until a new license is received. 

Any licenses not mailed by December 20 will be the result of late or incomplete application filing, or because of facility administrative changes.  Those licenses will be mailed after the first of the year.  Providers can report non-receipt of licenses beginning January 6th by calling the Center at 804.367.2102 or by faxing a notice to 804.367.2149.  The Center indicated that they are initiating this system as part of an ongoing effort to improve services to the provider community.
